Actually, my name is William Brian Williams...
please... don't even ask me what my parents were thinking!

My background...

I was born in October, 1973 in the town of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where I have lived the majority of my life.  My father has also lived here all of his life. In fact our family's roots go all the way back to around 1835 when the land that he and my mom now own and used to live on was settled by my great-great-great-grandparents.  My mom's father was from Germany, and her mother was a native to the Kentucky area as well.  But my ancestry is German, Irish, and English with a tiny little bit of Cherokee thrown in for good measure.

My High School Years...

Click here for more photos from my youthI was always the quiet, shy kid in school.  You know, the little guy whose IQ was a higher number than his body weight.  Okay, so I was a nerd--I enjoyed it, get over it.  The only sport I was really into in high school, if you could call it a "sport", was the Academic Team (also known as Quiz Bowl).  It's kind of like Trivial Pursuit, or Jeopardy, with math problems thrown in the question lot.  Anyhow, I was good, and was MIP my sophomore year, followed by MVP my senior year.  I was also in several clubs like the the National Honor Society, and Beta Club, among others.  I was also an "All American Scholar," a Governor's Scholar, made "Who's Who Among American High School Students," and ended up graduating Salutatorian.

My College Years...

Click here for more photos from my college years I went to Hopkinsville Community College from 1991 to 1993, and while there also played on their Academic Team and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa, the junior-college version of the  honor fraternity Phi Beta Kappa.

I graduated in December of 1997 from Murray State University where I got my B.S. in Computer Science.  While there, I was a member of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity.  I had the awesome experience of helping our fledgling colony become the Epsilon Eta Chapter.  For some reason I was given the nickname "Elmo" by my fraternity brothers, which I have not been able to shake over the years.
